- Building design speaks to our psychology
Architecture has a subtle effect on our psychological well-being with the design’s use of colour, texture, and shape.
2. Buildings impact on our daily lives
In most environments, buildings are the largest objects which we encounter on a day to day basis. A building with a displeasing design will begin to have a taxing effect on the individuals who spend time within that building, bringing down morale and enthusiasm.
3. Architecture carries the history of our existence
Historical buildings and design serve as reminders of where we come from, our heritage and can inspire young designers to move forward and represent a new era.
For these reasons and many more, Sonae Arauco has dedicated itself to finding the most talented future architects and pledge to nurture them through their studies. We have been inspired by these innovative and exceptional designers which is why we have teamed up with the Cape Institute for Architecture to see where we can help. The final 10 candidates will be displayed in the Architect Gallery at CIFA in the first week of September. The top three winners will be announced on First Thursday 6 September 2018, details to follow.
