Our finishes: A finish for every decor

The finish of a decorative wood-base panel can make or break the board, its quality and its appeal – especially when you consider how authentic it appears. 

Once our wood-based boards have been made and the resin-coated décor paper has been laminated onto the board, each board is then given a specific finish (with certain boards available in multiple finishes). The finish of the decor will give it its final characteristics, such as a unique embossed texture or smoothness, or an extra glossy or matte appearance. Texture is added by putting the decor through a specialised brushing and varnishing process which gives the decor the tactile surface and appearance. The finish which is applied to the decorative wood-based panel is ultimately responsible for tying together the look and feel of the final product. 

The different finishes of a decor can also impact what kind of application it can be used for, as certain finishes are better suited to specific applications, while other finishes are able to be used across the decor. 

At Sonae Arauco our decorative wood-based panels are available in four different high-quality finishes which each add their own unique touch to the decors:

The Stucco Finish
Stucco is an urban-contemporary style of finish which gives the decor a uniquely tactile surface which is inspired by industrial environments, urban lofts and natural origin materials. This finish complements designs that are more metal and industrial-inspired, such as Foundry, Oxide and Urban Steel decors as it lends authenticity to their appearance and touch. 

The Silhouette Finish
This is a beautifully linear embossed finish which results in an elegant deep matte effect on the decor. The embossed elements give finish a uniquely textured look and feel which makes it perfect for creating a highly authentic appearing woodgrain.  Silhouette is a versatile finish which will work well with all applications.

The Alpine Finish
This finish is reminiscent of genuine wood, making it the perfect finish to breathe life into and give an authentic wood-like texture and appearance to our contemporary woodgrains. This is a stalwart embossed finish that perfectly simulates the texture and feel of real wood, making it the perfect finish for our more authentic wood-inspired decorative based panels. This versatile finish is suitable for most applications.

The Textured Finish
The Textured Finish is perhaps our most versatile finish, as it gives our decors an elegant and smooth surface which will complement any number of different applications and environments. The Textured Finish places the emphasis on the actual design of the decor rather than adding texture or a noticeable glossy or matte appearance, which enables the decor to maintain its natural appeal. The versatility of this finish makes it perfect for any and all applications.
