Particleboard
Particleboard is also known as chipboard or low-density fiberboard and is an engineered wood product manufactured from wood chips in combination with synthetic resin or another suitable binder. Sonae Arauco offers Particleboard substrates for various applications.
- Novogold™
Novogold™ is an A-grade particleboard substrate that is manufactured for general use in interior furniture fitments. Novogold™’s high density ensures excellent screw holding and machinability, while its smooth surface characteristics make it ideal for lamination using either melamine, foil films, high-pressure laminates, veneer layons and other applications.
- Novogold MR™
Novogold MR™ contains all the same benefits of Novogold™ with the addition of displaying a degree of resistance to moisture. Panels of Novogold MR™ are identified by a green colouration of the board’s core and are visible on all board edges.
Medium-Density Fibreboard
Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product by Sonae Arauco made by breaking down hardwood or wood chipping residuals into fibres. This is done using a defibrillator which combines the fibres with wax and a resin binder and forms it into panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF is more robust and denser than particleboard and is made up of separated fibres. Sonae Arauco offers MDF substrates for various applications.
- Novowood™
Novowood™ is a standard Medium-Density Fibreboard substrate designed for general purpose interior use only and is not suitable for exterior use or interior areas where wetting or high humidity conditions are likely.
- Novowood DR™
For interior design applications that require consistent deep matching for the profiling of cabinetry and mouldings, Novowood DR™ Medium Fibreboard is manufactured to a much higher specification to match these demands.
- Novolite™
Novolite™ is the standard thin Medium-Density Fibreboard substrate available in either an unsurfaced or surfaced option. Novolite™ has a fine homogeneous surface suitable for any coated application.
