How has studying improved your life?
(TN) – The opportunity that I have been afforded by Sonae Arauco to enable me to study since I came to varsity has been one of the greatest highlights of my life. Through this opportunity, I have been able to learn more about this specific field of engineering and also broaden my knowledge of life skills in general. Some of the skills I have learnt so far include: being able to withstand pressure and work efficiently by solving problems through critical thinking. I have learnt the importance of working well with other people, therefore improving my communication and the value of behaving in an ethical manner in the community.
I could not have imagined my progress in life if I had not been given this opportunity where I find myself, being taught in one of the best institutions. Studying here has been a huge highlight in my life, it has opened a new world of opportunities.
(AN) – Being a student has changed my life in many positive ways, the past few years have really been a life-changing experience for me. I have grown in all areas of my personality including talking to strangers and making new friends.
What advice would you give to the Youth of today?
(TN) – My advice for all the youth would be simple, words that we are probably all familiar with. I would just say that hard work, sacrifice, and being driven are very important qualities when chasing your dream.
There will be times when the chips are down and you feel like all is going south, but it is important to keep going and maintain focus. We have a chance to rewrite history and this is the time to do it, it is all up to us. We have to do the best we can, let us not dwell so much on other factors that we cannot control, let us maintain focus and chase those dreams. It’s all possible.
(AN) – The advice I would like to give to the youth of today is that life is too short, make it large by doing the things you love. Stop criticizing yourself for your failures, start appreciating yourself for your achievements and stand up for what is right even if you stand alone.
